There’s nothing worse than sitting around the airport when your flight’s delayed.

The crowds, the lack of space and the uncertainty of when your flight’s due can lead to rocketing stress levels - and we think that’s unacceptable. So, if you buy a travel insurance policy with Columbus Direct, we’ll get you to an airport lounge where possible when you’re facing a long delay.

We’ve joined up with our sister company LoungeKey so you can access their extensive network of airport lounge partners worldwide – there are over 500 to choose from. Most lounges offer free Wi-Fi, and you'll be able to grab a bite to eat or something to drink and relax in quiet, comfortable surroundings.

Plus, if you’re travelling with other people, they won’t be left out - up to four of your fellow travellers can join you in the lounge.

Travellers with children shouldn’t worry too much - more airport lounges allow children than you’d think. However, there are exceptions, and individual admittance terms apply at each lounge, so it’s best to check before you go to avoid disappointment.

Here’s how you’ll receive your free lounge access. Follow the link in your policy confirmation email to register your flight and the details of up to four people you’re travelling with, up to 24 hours before you’re scheduled to depart. We’ll then send you an SMS alert, along with an email containing your access barcode, if an announcement of a delay of two or more hours is made.
