There's no denying it; Snowboxx is the last word in ski and snowboarding chic.

What’s the story?

Now in its fourth year, Snowboxx has pulled out all the stops; this year revellers can expect a brand new festival village, ultra-secret mountain parties, pool parties with a tropical theme, and park competitions featuring the hottest names on the slopes.

Avoriaz is very close to the Port du Soleil Ski area, which gives you access to one of the best-connected ski areas in the world - and you’ll want to be able to enjoy them with peace of mind, so you can focus on just enjoying your holiday. That’s where we come in.

Columbus Direct can offer you great value ski insurance which will give you the confidence you need to fully explore the Avoriaz slopes. Our cover includes up to £15m for medical expenses, up to £400 compensation if the piste is closed due to weather issues and we’ll even protect your equipment against loss, theft or damage up to £1,000. Don’t worry if you’re hiring kit - we can protect that, too.

When is it?

March 12 - 19, 2016.

Where:

Avoriaz, Portes du Soleil.

How much are tickets and accommodation?

This is definitely one for skiers and snowboarders on a budget - packages start from £229, and they include your accommodation, a lift pass and your entry into the festival. If you don’t like booking everything separately, you’ll love this week-long party - all-inclusive packages are available, with flights, transfers, chalets, a lift pass and a festival wristband.

Standard apartments are available from £335 for the week, but if you fancy taking it up a notch, you can book a luxury apartment from £379 per person for seven nights.

Who’s playing?

A well-balanced mix of old and new is set to dominate the stages this year - Grandmaster Flash, Mike Skinner, Stormzy and Two Door Cinema Club are confirmed, and Sigma and Blonde are also set to make an appearance. Don’t forget to check out Applebottom - this well-respected producer has already caught the eye of Annie Mac, and he’s considered one of the ‘future figureheads of dance music’. Crikey.

Snowboxx are confident that this year’s line-up is all killer, no filler, and plenty more artists are due to be announced. Keep an eye on their social media pages for more details.

What are people saying?

@MattyRoberts_93 ‘Snowboxx in 3 weeks!! Is it too early to pack? #keen #snowboarding #snowboxx #avoriaz’

@JannaLM ‘It's official #snowboxx is completely booked and #paid for! #festivals #snow #Avoriaz #france #Yes #somuchYES’

What’s it like?

Don’t think of Snowboxx as one long rave - it really is the perfect balance between a ski holiday and a high-energy music festival.

The resort itself is one of the largest, most beautiful resorts in the world, with 650km of varying runs and spanning two countries. March is the best time to visit, as you can make the most of the incredible snow conditions, and the longer, lighter evenings. Avoriaz is well-known for its reliable powder - it’s unlikely you’ll ever miss a day of skiing due to lack of snow!

Our advice? Ski hard, have loads of fun, and don’t forget to check out the night displays, where ski and snow professionals will perform for the crowds. If you fancy a rest after a hectic evening, there are plenty of all-day parties on the slopes. Look out for the tropical waterpark paradises and the neon-lit igloos, soundtracked by your favourite brands and labels.

Be prepared to some very late nights and some fairly early starts - but with thousands of other partygoers to have fun with, we doubt you’ll feel tired.
