As Easter break draws closer, travel savvy skiers/snowboarders are looking for more than just powdery white slopes when deciding on their final ski trip of the season. And in an effort to tempt visitors, ski areas around Europe are organizing an array of endless body rocking festivities to mark the end of ski season. For the next 6 weeks, visitors can expect parties till dawn and all star line ups of world class musicians & DJ’s at some of the best terrain in Europe.

Below is a quick roundup of the upcoming ski resort based music festivals around Europe.

Rock The Pistes:

Date: 24 – 28 March 2012

Location: Portes du Soleil

Overview: The five day festival takes place at one of the largest ski areas in the world and attracts French and international musician. Best of all it is absolutely free! The line-up this year includes:

Big Snow festival:

Date: 25 March – 1 April 2012

Location: Sauze d'Oulx

Overview: The Big Snow Festival returns for a third time this year at the lively Italian resort of Sauze d’Oulx. The event promises excellent après ski atmosphere with parties lasting till dawn! The line up includes:

Winter Sessions Weekender:

Date: 30 - 31 March 2012

Location: Chamonix

Overview: People visiting Chamonix at the end of March, will have a chance to witness a series of gigs in a variety of locations across the valley. However live music is not the only feature organised for the weekend, as visitors can also enjoy other events like ‘Alpine Cake Bake Off’. The line up includes:

SnowpenAir 

Date: 31 March 2012

Location: Kleine Scheidegg

Overview: Referred to as ‘The highest-altitude open-air-concert on snow’ (takes place 2061 metres above sea level), SnowpenAir concert, over the years, has turned in to a true Swiss tradition. This year Bryan Adams and Kim Wilde are set to headline the event. The line up includes:

Basscamp Festival 

Date:  2 - 6 April 2012

Location: Portes du Soleil

Overview: The 5 day festival promises to bring “beats” from the best international DJ's. Besides live music, festival will also include three snow sports competitions. The line up includes:

Snowbombing

Date:  9 - 14 April 2012

Location: Mayrhofen

Overview: After a very successful event last season, this year, Snowbombing is set to exhilarate audiences with a week long “whirlwind of brilliant bands and world class DJs”.  It is regarded by many as, 'The Greatest Show on Snow'. Despite the cancellation of Snopp Dogg, the line up of the event looks extremely exciting:

Zermatt Unplugged

Top of the Mountain Concert
