Doesn't the E111 form provide medical insurance?
The form E111 (European Union Reciprocal Health Agreement) may pay for most of the costs of emergency medical treatment, depending on which country you are in. However, this could still leave you considerably out of pocket as often hospital overnight costs, transportation and hospital bills are not covered by the E111 – expensive when you consider that the typical cost for a broken leg is £5,000. This is where your travel insurance policy can help out.
