Holidaymakers regularly get bitten by mosquitoes. One poor visitor to Bangkok borrowed a friend's apartment that had not been lived in for a few months… Being tired after their journey, they went straight to bed.

The next morning they had been bitten over a hundred times by dozens of giant mosquitoes that hadn't been cleared from the bedroom before their arrival. So severe and large were the bites that swelling around the bite marks measured up to four inches each and the poor man had to be admitted to the local hospital
