On a tour of France in an old Renault 5, one family stopped at the local hostel near Cap d'Antibes. The following afternoon, the guests were invited down to the beach for a barbeque.
On returning to the hostel they found every car had been broken into. Down at the local police station, the queue to make reports of the thefts was over fifty feet long. Nearly everyone who had been at the beach barbeque was in the queue.
Whilst queuing, the victims overheard one of the policemen turn around and say to a red faced Englishman. ‘It's not our fault if you English can't resist a free lunch!' The ‘barbeque gang' had clearly struck before!
