Due to a faulty overhead power cable in France, thousands of passengers are facing major travel disruptions. Some travellers faced delays of up to nine hours yesterday as Eurostar cancelled 4 of its services. Passengers will endure further misery today as another four trains are not expected to run. Eurostar website reports that services between London and Paris will be running with delays until lunchtime Tuesday 6th March.
The disruption comes at the worst of times as Paris Fashion Week gets underway. It was reported that some catwalk models and designers were also caught up in the delays.
It is highly recommended that people travelling via Eurostar check the website for updates before setting off on their journey. For passengers booked on cancelled trains, it is advised that they exchange their tickets for travel on another date as 'other services may also be subject to delay'.
